Zoe Holland, Founder & Managing Director
Zoe Holland is Managing Director of ZebraLC™, the UKs leading technical due diligence, audit and consulting business focused on the legal sector. Zoe has built a national reputation as a technical due diligence specialist, assessing law firm WIP value, together with legal business risk profiling, and is valued for her technical brilliance, confidentiality and discretion.
Strong focus within the personal injury sector, having been involved in a number of the sector’s highest profile M&A and bank funding projects. Using her background as a serious injury/clinical negligence lawyer together with management Board and finance experience. Zoe has advised leading personal injury firms including Pattinson Brewer, Bott & Co, Simpson Millar, Switalskis, Minster Law and Fletchers.
Zoe has advised in some of highest profile deals in the legal services market, advising new entrants into the legal sector, such as Fairpoint Group PLC, North Edge Capital, Money Plus Group and the Co-Operative Group. Other clients include RBS, NatWest, HSBC and Yorkshire Bank.
In 2014 Zoe was named ‘Outstanding Innovator of the Year’ at the Claims Innovation Awards, ‘Legal Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the Modern Law Awards, and in 2015 was a finalist in both the ‘Great British Entrepreneur Awards’ and Lloyds Bank ‘National Business Awards’.
Zoe is a member of the Civil Justice Council, supporting the NIHL Claimant Working Group.
John Humpherson, Finance and Commercial Director
John joined ZebraLC in 2013 and is a member of the management Board. John brings 20 years experience in business, within large multinationals as well as SMEs. He has significant experience in high growth businesses including two successful PLCs. As an additional string to his bow, John has specific experience in the legal sector and has supported law firms building their personal injury departments post LASPO.
Hazel Ryan, Risk & Operations Director
Hazel joined ZebraLC in 2013 and in 2015 joined the management Board. As a former Risk Director at international law firm Eversheds LLP, she has exceptional experience in risk, professional indemnity, compliance, quality and knowledge management. As well as internal audit, Hazel brings due diligence experience. Prior to joining Eversheds in 2001, she practised with DLA as National Head of Tax and Employee Benefits having initially joined the firm in 1985. Hazel brings a strong analytical approach to reviewing the operation of risk management processes and procedures. Her past experience of corporate due diligence, M&A work and private equity investment adds a further dimension to her risk management expertise.
Karen Flavell, Senior HR Business Consultant
Karen joined us in 2014 and joined the management Board in 2015. She has an extensive career within the banking sector over a 18 year period. This culminated in the role of SVP – Head of Learning and Associate Engagement across Europe Card Services. As a proven business leader and inspirational senior manager, Karen’s role is to bring together and oversee our biggest asset – our people. This includes helping Zebra through a period of significant growth. With a diverse network of technical experts, Karen has been integral in aligning our collaborative cohort to our vision, mission and values.
Vicki Acres, Head of Technical and Risk Outsourcing
Vicki joined Zebra in 2012 and took her current management role in 2014. Vicki is a vastly experienced technical lawyer and a renowned due diligence expert. Whilst in private practice, Vicki had a national profile as a clinical negligence expert and worked extensively on Legal Aid franchising. Joining Zebra at its inception, Vicki has led on a number of ZebraLC’s specialist & major due diligence projects as well as undertaking a number of key client consulting projects. Vicki also heads ZebraTD (www.zebratd.co.uk): the technical development and outsourcing arm of ZebraLC. In that role, she acts as Chair of the Technical Advisory Board.
